If you have any questions regarding these rules, please PM a staff member. These rules apply everywhere on these forums, including e-mails sent through these forums and private messages.

The Rules

1) Spam topics will not be tolerated.

2) Trolling, flaming, or hate comments of any kind will not be tolerated.

3) As children may frequent this form, keep swearing to a minimum.

4) The posting of sexually explicit material, material that references drugs or alcohol, or any other content deemed by the staff to be inappropriate for younger audiences is forbidden.

5) Any attempts to distribute hacked clients, malware, viruses, or any other suspicious material will result in the termination of your account and the authorities being notified. Attempts to impersonate people or otherwise scam members or guests fall under this rule.

6) Do not attempt to trade or sell any products, real or digital.

7) Do not attempt to pry personal information from people. On the flip side, do not give out any extremely personal information yourself.

8. Do not attempt to convince others to exploit this website or Toontown Rewritten by using glitches, loopholes, and hacks made by yourself or others.

The Rules Explained

1) Spam topics will not be tolerated.

Spam, for those of you who do not know, stands for Stupid Pointless Annoying Message. The staff consider posts such as "+1!" or "Cool story bro" spam. Posts that are fewer than ten words may also be considered spam, depending on the context in which they are used. Excessively bumping up a topic is considered spam, and we ask that you please limit your bumps to five per topic per user per day. Any messages that are completely pointless and irrelevant to the topic at hand will be removed.

2) Trolling, flaming, or hate comments of any kind will not be tolerated.

This is a serious problem that plagues many online communities. There is absolutely no excuse for spiteful behavior such as this. Purposefully making comments that are intended to hurt another person or group of people are considered hate comments. Flaming is defined as a comment that is intended to bash something, usually a certain idea or, indirectly, a person or groups of people. Trolling is considered the posting of hateful messages directed at no one in particular, usually to bash an idea. Trolls, flamers, and haters will be terminated as soon as they are discovered. Remember that engaging a troll, flamer, or hater is not wise, as it could lead to an argument, often dubbed a flame war, that will result in you getting in trouble as well. For your own safety and for the safety of others, please just report the troll, flamer, or hater and move on.

3) As children may frequent this form, keep swearing to a minimum.

As Toontown Rewritten is geared toward children, The Gag Strategists welcome people of all ages. Because we could have people as young as five or six years old on these forums, even as guests, we ask that you keep swearing to a minimum. Words like the f word and the b word should be used only if absolutely necessary, and even then are risky. As a guideline, members begin to break this rule when they have more than three swear words in a single post. Words like "hell" and "crap" are not considered swear words by the forum staff.

4) The posting of sexually explicit material, material that references drugs or alcohol, or any other content deemed by the staff to be inappropriate for younger audiences is forbidden.

Due to the presence of people under 18, content referencing adult material is not allowed. Things such as videos, photos, and comments that contain or reference such material will be removed and the offending party will have their account terminated. The staff consider things such as, but not limited to, sex, alcohol, drugs, guns, and extreme gore/violence mature topics that should not be discussed or referenced to/featured in photos, videos, and other things related to such features. Topics regarding material that is harder for younger audiences to relate to or understand is allowed, such as discussions pertaining to religion or politics. However, such topics will be removed if they begin to stray into territory deemed inappropriate by forum staff.

5) Any attempts to distribute hacked clients, malware, viruses, or any other suspicious material will result in the termination of your account and the authorities being notified. Attempts to impersonate people or otherwise scam members or guests fall under this rule.

This is an extremely dangerous occurrence that plagues internet communities. No amount of security can keep scammers and hackers away from these forums. If you see anyone posting a link or links that seem suspicious, report the post or message immediately. Never click on anything that doesn't link to an obviously safe website (such as YouTube or the Toontown Rewritten Wiki). If you ever get a personal message or e-mail from a person attempting to sell you something or attempting to convince you to click on a provided link, take a screenshot and notify forum staff immediately. Don't respond to the message. If an e-mail you receive from a forum member looks suspicious, don't even click on it. To help safeguard against these scammers and hackers, new members are not allowed to post external links on this site for a week after registering. Don't always trust a person's profile, either. Looks can be deceiving, and scammers will often make their profiles and signatures look authentic in an attempt to show that they are a normal, dedicated member you can trust. The Gag Strategists recommend installing a anti-virus and anti-malware system on your computer to further help protect you, and to never check the "Remember Me" box when logging into this site. We also recommend changing your forum password every so often. Never pay any attention to members who claim to be staff members and don't have a title that says so underneath their username and who aren't listed on the staff list. Forum staff will never ask for any of your information or attempt to get you to click on any links or go to any special places.

6) Do not attempt to trade or sell any products, real or digital.

This isn't eBay, or Amazon, or Craig's List. Don't try and sell or trade away anything, digital or not. There is no need for a Skype group that plays a video game together to allow their members the ability to sell and trade products. If you attempt to do such things, you may find your account terminated. To help protect against scammers, we do not allow members to link to any websites that offer products for sale or trade. If you would like to direct someone to such a website, do so via directions. Directions will be checked by staff, and you will be held accountable if they lead to a malicious website.

7) Do not attempt to pry personal information from people. On the flip side, do not give out any extremely personal information yourself.

The safety of our members is our primary concern as staff. As such, we do not allow members to give away or attempt to pry personal information from other members. We allow members to freely express their country, age, state, and e-mail. We do not allow members to freely express things like their address, city, full name (first names are fine, no last names), school or sports team name, or phone number. Posting pictures of yourself or another member are forbidden if they show your face. Describing in detail what you look like is not allowed. Attempting to link members to a website that asks for such information will result in your account being terminated. Do not attempt to set up real life meetings on this website. The Gag Strategists cannot be held accountable if you break this rule and all of your personal information is leaked onto the World Wide Web.

8. Do not attempt to convince others to exploit this website or Toontown Rewritten by using glitches, loopholes, and hacks made by yourself or others.

Self-explanatory. Anyone who attempts to convince anyone else to break this rule in any form will have their posts deleted and their account terminated. If anyone attempts to distribute hacked Toontown Rewritten clients or hacks that exploit Toontown Rewritten, they will be in violation of both this rule and Rule 5, and may be reported to authorities as dictated by the law and determined by forum staff.
